Is the Cam Newton Era Officially Over?

1 min read

It seems as if the “Superman” of the NFL has come across his kryptonite for the second time in his career. Cam Newton was released by the New England Patriots two weeks ago and is still available in free agency. This isn’t the first time Cam has dealt with a situation like this. Back in March of 2020, the Carolina Panthers released Cam after not finding a suitable trade for him. It took Cam roughly four months to find a new home, but I don’t think that’s going to be the case this time. Unfortunately, I just can not see Cam finding a new team. It does make you wonder, what went wrong with the former MVP? Honestly, there is one simple answer, and that is injuries. According to Draft Sharks, Cam has dealt with 10 injuries since the beginning of his NFL career in 2011. Some of these injuries include the likes of two shoulder injuries and a hand injury. It would be nice to see him on another team, especially the Washington Football Team, but I think his injuries have finally caught up to him fully.
