CloudZeroSports Betting AFC South Review: Will the Rookie QBs Make Noise?

Houston Texans (O/U 6.5)

The Houston Texans and their new quarterback from Ohio State, CJ Stroud, will look to have a better year this year than last. On a positive note, the Texans may have got their franchise quarterback. CJ Stroud has many great attributes, but can he hold up in the NFL? The Texans have added some new key players to the team this year, with Robert Woods, Dalton Shultz, and various defensive players like Will Anderson Jr. that may contribute to the team. I’m not a big fan of their schedule and division, but I believe in this Texans team making some noise this year. I think they will surprise a team or two. That said, I’m taking the under on the wins this year for the Texans. The offense will get it going and move the ball, but Stroud will have learning curves and adapt to the NFL. I can’t see the defense making big-time plays to stop their tough schedule. I can see these Texans winning about 5-6 games.

Under 6.5 (Opponents to look out for Ravens, Steelers, Falcons, Saints, Bengals, Jets, and Browns)

Over 3075.5 passing yards for CJ Stroud – reason being, they’ll be down, and he has weapons around him.

Jacksonville Jaguars (O/U 9/5)

Trevor Lawerence and the Jacksonville Jaguars will look to go far into the playoffs this year. As they had the crazy comeback to the Chargers, they aren’t by any means a sneaky team. Head coach and Super Bowl champion Doug Peterson has a franchise quarterback, and they have a very special bond to make this year a wonderful one. While looking back into the off-season, Doug Peterson and the Jags had 13 picks for this 2023 draft and look to conquer the AFC South again. Adding Calvin Ridley, who hasn’t played a regular-season snap in about 2 years, will look to T-Law and build a connection with him. Another big playmaker is Christian Kirk. I think he has the potential to have a career year. This Jags team had a little taste of what playoffs are like, and I believe this team led by Doug Peterson is a strong core of men who are anxious to get back in playoffs and make another statement. My only question is whether their defense is strong enough for the other AFC quarterbacks.

Over 9.5 wins (Notable games to look for, Steelers, Ravens, Bengals, Browns, Chiefs, Bills, Saints, and 49ers)

Over receiving yards 825.5 Christian Kirk and Over 600.5 receiving yards Evan Engram

Indianapolis Colts (O/U 6.5)

The Indianapolis Colts are looking for positivity from this year’s football season. Selecting Anthony Richardson 4th overall may help the team, but if Jonathan Taylor gets traded, it may not look good for the Colts. Anthony Richardson is a playmaker, but potentially losing JT is not a promising start for his career. With the schedule not going their way and having a decent team but not the most talented, this team can only do so much. For Colts fans, seeing Anthony Richardson prove he’s an NFL quarterback and improve game by game is a positive for this year’s team. I see them at under 6.5 wins this season.

Under 6.5 wins (Notable games Ravens, Browns, Steelers, Bengals, Patriots, Saints, and Falcons)

Richardson double-digit picks

Tennessee Titans (O/U 7.5)

Mike Vrabel and Ryan Tannehill will try to steer the Titans correctly this year. After some rough patches last year, they added DeAndre Hopkins and a healthy defense. Will that be enough? Will Will Levis get his first start as a Quarterback this year? And if that happens, will Levis shift this team in the right direction? This team will give their all and will frustrate other teams. D-Hop isn’t the same player as he once was, but he is still a very talented and good veteran to add to this team. Also, having Derrick Henry back is nice, even though he has a lot of mileage on him. He’s an excellent veteran and will still have a decent year. The schedule isn’t in their favor either, but this is a scrappy, hard-nosed team. They will give Jacksonville a tough time for the divisional title. Also, I think the last game of the year will mean something to this Titan team, so watch out.

Over 7.5 wins (Steelers, Saints, Chargers, Browns, Bengals, Ravens, Miami, and Seattle)

Over 850.5 receiving yards D-Hop
